The Market was set up by Ailbhe O'Connell and Louise Gambrill, two Dublin-based artists who were finding it hard to sell their art without paying high commission rates.  A little research into market spaces followed and the Crafty Market was born in March.  The launch market on 3 May was a great success and there will be many more to follow.

You can find us in a charming redbrick building on Newmarket Square on the first Sunday of every month.  The perfect place to while away a rainy Sunday, this indoor market is only a stone's throw from St. Patrick's Cathedral, with free parking outside the door.

The market holds up to 45 stalls which change on a regular basis to ensure a different shopping experience each time you visit!   There is a wide selection of handicrafts and artwork at the market, ranging from paintings to homewares, jewellery to babyclothes, hats to handbags.  There is something for everyone, young or old, and it is the ideal place to pick up an original handmade gift for a special occasion.  Live music and a tarot card reader add to the fun and ensure it will be a great day out for the whole family.

At the back of the market is a great cafe and two food stalls where you can rejuvenate yourself with a delicious lunch or snack after all your shopping!  There is also a lovely dry food shop in the building, with a wide variety of foodstuffs to take home with you.
